We’re counting down to the New Orleans Earth Day Festival & Green Business Expo on April 17 and the excitement is building (as is our roster of sponsors and participants)!
Today, we’re announcing additional event sponsors and media partners:
This organization has been working for 75 years to protect and defend wildlife all across America. In Louisiana, they’ve been active recently with rescuing wildlife impacted by the BP Oil Spill. Now that we’re in the recovery stages, NWF is pushing for offshore drilling reform and restoring ecosystems along the Gulf Coast. Since about 40 percent of coastal wetlands in the lower 48 states are found in Louisiana, we need organizations like NWF now more than ever.
And, the Sierra Club:
The Delta Chapter of the Sierra Club is 3,000 of your neighbors supporting the work of the Sierra Club in Louisiana. The organization has had considerable impact on conservation issues in the state, and has been a mouthpiece for the many in Louisiana who want better environmental protections for our coastal areas. Check out their website for information about Gulf Coast recovery, the latest in recycling drop-offs and Louisiana’s “Mulch Madness.”
Finally, we’re giving a shout-out to one of our media partners who is doing a great job getting the word out about the New Orleans Earth Day Festival:
WWOZ-90.7 FM, “Bringing New Orleans Music to the Universe”:
WWOZ is New Orleans’ very own community radio station, powered by volunteer programming and listener support. Visit their website and read the history of this great radio station … it’s as colorful as the music you’ll hear.
Stay tuned for more information as we highlight each of our great sponsors in the coming weeks. And mark your calendars for New Orleans Earth Day Festival & Green Business Expo April 17!
